Oh, Eleanor...

...thank you, I needed that.

"One thing life has taught me: If you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something else."

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop and look fear in the face...do the thing you think you cannot do."

~Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor is one of my all-time favs. She was an amazing lady and those are some very wise words.

These are good word for me to read today. I'm at a point that it's a perfect time for a change. Do I go back to school, do I volunteer for Hospice or have another baby. haha, which of those three choices will never happen?

right on!

here's my hang-up with that whole philosophy: what if i throw caution to the wind, give that special something a shot, and then i suck at it? i'm not the type that sees my journey as being better for having tried. i'm the one who says "see, i never should've tried that because look what a miserable failure i am."

what does eleanor say about THAT?

I love Eleanor! She was my kind of Lady.

I'm with Michelle. This quote sounds like you and your life. Are you reading a book about Eleanor right now? If so, I can't wait to hear the review on Goodreads. I could use a good Eleanor book.

That totally makes me feel better about my scattered interests and obsessions. Whether I can focus well enough to do something thoroughly or noteworthily, that is another thing entirely. I am easily distracted I see you as having the right dose of both: curiosity about many things and the ability to sort through and focus.
